Iprona Phenol Technology (IPT)

Iprona Phenol Technology is a mechanical solvent free separation, concentration and enrichment process using membrane ultra filtration.

This mechanical technology uses specially designed membranes to separate pressed fruit juice into two streams according to molecule size. The larger molecules including polyphenols and anthocyanins are concentrated in one direction through the membrane whilst the smaller molecules such as fructose and mineral salts are separated in a different direction.

Using membranes with different pore sizes, various configurations and different polarities enables products to be created without the use of solvents.

Iprona Infusion Technology (IIT)

Infusions are created by infusing plants or specific plant parts in pure water. Our very gentle infusion method solubilises the water-soluble ingredients and some of the compounds from the base material. The resulting natural infusion is normally cloudy in appearance. If the customer wishes, we can also produce a clear or clear-stable liquid.

Our expertise enables us to extract specific active ingredients from the plant depending on the customer’s requirements.

A Passion for Fruit and Technology

Freeze Concentrate Technology

Freeze concentration is an innovative juice concentration method that works entirely without the application of heat or vacuums. The natural water content of the juice is separated from the juice compounds by freezing to temperatures below 0ºC. This method is highly selective, meaning that no juice content, and especially none of the very elusive flavour compounds, are lost. They are naturally enriched and retained in the frozen juice icicles. The sensory quality of the freeze juice concentrate is of extraordinarily high quality. Our freeze method is regarded as the superior concentration method for retained taste and aromas. Since there is no loss of flavour during the concentration process, the juice reconstituted from the concentrate is sensorially an exact match to the juice before concentration.

Advantages of the Iprona Freeze Concentration technology:

  • very high sensory quality
  • lower transport and storage costs than with not-from-concentrate juice (NFC) due to reduced volume
  • use in product formulations with the highest flavour and aroma requirements

The following fruits and flowers are especially suited to this method:
strawberries, raspberries, apples, grapes, blueberries, black currants, elderflowers
and every other fruit with a pronounced flavour and aroma profile.
